Caramel Bananas

Healthy family meal - Perfect for the whole family.....
Cheap family recipe - Wholesome, budget supper for the whole family...


Serves 4

25g butter
50g soft light brown sugar
4 bananas, peeled
8 tablespoons double cream vanilla ice cream, to serve

1. Melt the butter in a large, heavy-based frying pan, add the sugar and heat gently until the sugar has dissolved and the butter is foaming.

2. Cut the bananas in half lengthways, then cut each half in half again widthways. Add to the pan and cook over a medium heat, stirring and turning gently once or twice, fore 3 - 4 minutes until softened. Remove with a fish slice and divide between 4 warmed serving bowls.

3. Add the cream to the pan and stir well with a wooden spoon. Spoon the sauce over the bananas and serve with scoops of vanilla ice cream.
