Preventing Eczema At Earlier Stage

Sweeping moisturizer in baby skin that has just been born can prevent eczema and, but also food allergy in the future, it may be offering an easy way to fight against increasing global problems, according to an institute in Japan.

A small scale study that was carried out by a researcher from the National Centre for the Health and Development of Children that was stationed in Tokyo, has suggested a frequent use of lotion after first few weeks of baby birth would help maintain the integrity of the baby's immune systems.

The research divided 118 infants into two similar groups, the first group was wiped with glycerine-based moisturizer for 32 weeks while the other group was not wiped with any lotion.


The result showed that 19 infants from the first group received atopik dermatitis - eczema - compared with 28 infants from the second group.

The study, which according to the research was the first of its kind in the world, has the possibility of showing dampness reduces the risk of getting eczema by 30%.

In a statement, the institute has said that a softener prevents skin from dryness and breach, which reveals the immune cells and allows the irritant to enter. This will make the body to increase the production of antibody to fight irritant, which causes overproduction. This overproductrion which causes allergy symptom.
